I knew when I woke up today it was going to be a Breakbot kind of day. While he is working on his latest album, hopefully to be released soon, here are some Breakbot remix favorites, perfect for this 72 degree weather here in NY:

Et Musique Pour Tous publishes my monthly mixtape at the 1st of each month. The mixtape is available to stream as individual tracks or you can download the entire 1 hour mix to your ipod as one track.

A fan of the tapes described one of the summer mixes of ‘09 like this: “it’s like dancing around the edge of a pool late night with a drink and a cigarette and oversized t-shirts and sometimes getting pushed in and you never remember the photos that get taken but you laugh the whole time,” I hope you’ll agree the 2010 Le Miel du Mois summer tapes envokes the same. The picture above is from Polock, Valencia based band that just released their EP. Definitely one to check out if you haven’t already; another is Baby Jazz (Elgin Braden of Aux Arc and Sam Cooper of Sunglasses) with the opening track “The Song for the Season” with lyrics including “Yes, its Christmas time” I knew this was a perfect opener for the July mix… Happy Independence Month.

Um hello…where the hell did you come from? This was my thought this morning when Jamaica’s “I Think I Like U 2″ (Breakbot Remix) came on my headphones and I perked up instantly.

It all made perfect sense when I realized who this was: Jamaica is Antoine Hilaire and Flo Lyonnet.  They used to be known as Poney Poney. They are from France and another big detail adding to their sheer awesomeness might be the fact that their music is produced by Xavier – Justice. They are doing some one-offs in France, with a performance coming up in London on May 7th with Midnight Juggernauts.

Breakbot is just plain siiick. Every remix he touches turns to gold, and this one’s no exception. (Although pay equal attention to the Buffalo Bunch remix) Get on it. Here:

Ed Banger Records turned 7 last week, and on February 12th, they threw a motherf***er of all bashes. Some of the label’s best were there to celebrate including headliner Justice and supporters Busy P, Breakbot, DJ Mehdi and more. The show was at Terminal 5 and it was superbe/fantastique/magnifique! Balloons, confetti, a giant cake and France’s finest rocked out from 9 PM to nearly 3 AM. There were so many amazing highlights and favorites, I can’t list them all, but here are two: Justice remixed Lenny Kravitz’s “It Ain’t Over til its Over” and forthebeat met Breakbot and told him that we him and well, he is tres awesome.

Neon face paint was in. Pre-pubescence was in. And beating up the beat was – yes, in. They are throwing round II in London on March 5th – sans Justice but with Breakbot, Busy P, Fake Blood, Sebastian and Riton.
