The reason I knew I liked this band right away is that despite their cover of Chris Isaac’s “Wicked Game,” I still wanted to listen to them.

Formed in 2008, exlovers is a 5-piece band from London, whose dreamy pop songs carry an overall innocence. Their EP out now will be followed by a debut album in 2010.

One of the more popular tracks “Photobooth” is certainly worth listening to, but my favorites are “New Years Day,” “In the Woods with the Werewolves” and “You Forget So Easily.”

Selling out shows across the UK from now through March, before making their U.S. mark at SXSW, there’s no doubt in my mind that they will likely follow in fellow UK act The xx’s steps and become the next new UK darlings to hit the scene and cast a similar infectious spell.
